ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tameka Tallie, MA, MSW
Tameka was born in Missouri but grew up Oxford, Mississippi. She is a dedicated wife and
mother of four boys. Tameka and her husband are the owners of an award-winning restaurant,
Southern Harvest Soul Food, located in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She is also one of the
eleven acclaimed authors of Resilient: Adjusting My Crown. Tameka has a master’s degree in
human behavior and a master’s degree in social work. She has worked in private practice,
providing trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and other
evidence-based therapies designed to address and reduce symptoms related to traumatic events,
including childhood trauma (various types of abuse and neglect), rape, combat, and natural
disasters. Tameka has provided counseling services to adults, children, teens, and couples
focusing on anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders,
behavioral disorders, and more.
Tameka has a servant’s heart and a passion for prayer. She is a master connector in the Prayer
Clinic, founded by Carla P. Gaskins, designed to “edify, enrich, and provide spiritual and
practical knowledge for living an exciting and winning Christian lifestyle through prayer.” When
not working in the restaurant, you’ll probably find Tameka serving in her local church, reading,
praying, studying the Bible, or spending quality time with her family.
